Northwood Announced Kody Kott is Joining the Varsity Powerlifting Team
MIDLAND, MICH. – Kody Kott has joined Northwood University Timberwolves' varsity powerlifting team.
Kody has established himself as one of Michigan's top high school powerlifters and a rising competitor on the national and international stage. Representing Troy Athens High School, he captured the 2025-26 Michigan High School Powerlifting State Championship in the 132-pound weight class, helping lead Troy Athens to its first boys state championship in program history.
Kody continued his success at the 2026 USA Powerlifting High School Nationals, where he finished ninth in the nation with a 445 kg (981-pound) total while contributing to one of the country's top high school powerlifting teams. Most recently, he earned a third-place finish at the World Powerlifting Championships, further showcasing his ability to compete among the sport's best athletes.
His accomplishments include a Michigan state championship, a top-10 national finish, qualification for USA Powerlifting High School Nationals, and an international podium finish, making him an exciting addition to the Northwood powerlifting program.
