Stacey Klonowski Named Captial One First Team Academic All-District

COMPLETE CAPITAL ONE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS

Stacey Klonowski (Canton, Mich./Plymouth), a junior shortstop on the Northwood University softball team, has earned Capital One First Team Academic All-District IV.

The team is voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

First-team honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America ballot, where three teams of All-Americans will be selected later this month.

Klonowski has turned in one of the finest individual seasons in Northwood history.  She currently ranks in the top seven in the GLIAC in 12 different categories.  Klonowski enters this weekend's GLIAC Tournament batting .415 with nine home runs and 34 RBI's, all of which rank her in the top-five in the conference.  All of those marks also rank her in the top-10 leaders in a season in Northwood history.  Despite being a junior, Klonowski ranks second in Northwood history with 22 home runs and a .378 career average while ranking third with 37 career doubles.

Klonowski is a Banking & Finance Management major with a 3.92 overall GPA.

Northwood will compete at the GLIAC Tournament this Friday-Sunday (May 3-5).  The Timberwolves will open the event with a game against Ohio Dominican Friday morning at 10 a.m.
