Sydni Pauley Named Second Team All-Region By The NFCA
MIDLAND, MICH. – Northwood University senior outfielder Syndi Pauley has been named Second Team All-Midwest Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2018 NFCA Division II All-America squads.
Pauley was the starting right fielder for the Timberwolves this season. She earned First Team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honors for the second straight year, ending the year batting .379 with nine home runs and 35 RBIs. She led Northwood in runs, hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage this season. Pauley ranked in the top-10 in the GLIAC in 10 different categories, including all three "triple crown" categories. She registered two of the top four single-season home run totals in history. Pauley finished career third in NU history in home runs (22).
Northwood went 25-23 this season and reached the GLIAC Tournament for the first time since 2014 .
