GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Ohio Dominican scored three runs in the bottom of the first for a quick lead.
  • Northwood got on the board in the top of the third, starting with a bases-loaded walk by Jenna Kowalski.
  • Gage Lambert followed with a sacrifice fly that made the score 3-2.
  • The Panthers responded right away, scoring five runs in the bottom of the third go up 8-2.
  • Delanie Gale got one back for Northwood in the top of the fourth on a solo home run.
  • ODU came right back with a two-run homer of their own in the bottom of the inning to make the score 10-3.
  • Ashley Ziel connected on a two-run shot in the top of the sixth to get NU within five.
  • Once again, the Panthers came right back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth that made the final 12-5.

NORTHWOOD NOTES

  • With her single in the third inning of game one, Gale set the school record for career total bases. At the end of the day, Gale now has 365 total bases. Northwood Hall of Famer Tanya Haspelhorn (1993-96) was the previous record holder at 357.
  • When Gale scored a run later in that same inning, she became the all-time leader in school history with 151 runs scored. She now has 152 for her career, passing Northwood Hall of Famer Tara Tigner's record of 150.
