Delanie Gale Named G-MAC Softball Player of the Week

G-MAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MIDLAND, MICH. – Delanie Gale, a senior third baseman from the Northwood University softball team, has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Softball Player of the Week Monday (April 27).

This is the third time in her career Gale has earned G-MAC Player of the Week. She is the third Timberwolf to earn a G-MAC weekly award this season, joining Ashley Ziel (March 9) and Kamden Binney (March 16).

Gale had a big week for Northwood, hitting .548 over eight games. She had three home runs, seven doubles, three triples and eight RBIs. Gale finished the week with a 1.129 slugging percentage. She had at least two hits in six of the eight games played. Gale also set school records for career runs (152) and total bases (357) during the week.

Northwood (22-20, 15-9 G-MAC) is the number six seed for the conference tournament, which runs Wednesday-Saturday (April 29-May 2) in Akron Ohio. The Timberwolves will open the event against third-seeded Ashland Wednesday at 6 p.m.
