Brittany Horan was named head coach of the Northwood University softball pogram in the summer of 2026. She spent the previous seven seasons working under Gregg Sauve, joining in the summer of 2019 before being promoted to Associate Head Caoch in 2021.
Since joining the coaching staff, Northwood has helped 16 athletes earn All-Conference honors, totaled 165 victories, made two NCAA Tournament appearances (2021 & 2024), and captured the program’s first conference tournament title in 2024.
Horan arrived at Northwood after spending nine seasons at Central Michigan University as both a player and a coach. She spent five seasons as an assistant coach under longtime head coach Margo Jonker. Her role at CMU included working with the hitters, base running, and infield defense while also serving as the academic coordinator. Several players during her final two seasons on staff earned individual recognition, including seven All-MAC selections, a MAC Freshman of the Year honoree, and four All-Region players.
A four-year letter winner at Central Michigan, Horan was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team in 2011. She shared the team lead in RBIs in 2013 when the Chippewas won the MAC Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
A native of Rosebush, Michigan, Horan is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, where she was inducted into the MPHS Athletic Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. Horan earned her bachelor’s degree in sports management in 2014 and later completed her master’s degree in sports administration in 2018.
