Track & Field Competes Highly At Hoosier Horsepower Classic In Indianapolis

OVERVIEW – HOOSIER HORSEPOWER CLASSIC

LOCATION: Indiana State Fairgrounds – Indianapolis, Ind.

RECAP: Northwood men's and women's track & field finished the weekend at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic in Indianapolis on Saturday (January 18).

INSIDE THE MEET

FOR THE MEN

  • Blake Vier and Matheu Morrison both qualified for the 60m hurdle finals. Both won their prelims heats with 8.14 (Vier ) and 8.26 (Morrison) times. Vier would be the only one to compete in the finals, eventually taking fourth in 8.07.
  • In the weight throw, Luke Eros held his own, finishing seventh amongst the 23 competitors and second amongst DII athletes.
  • Vier also ran a 22.67 200m race in heat three of the 200m competition. He placed 19th overall.
  • Will Nemecek took home a fourth place finish in the shot put. His final toss of 17.57m gave him the finish.

FOR THE WOMEN

  • Kelsey Hansen finished first amongst DII athletes and tenth overall in the women's shot put. Hansen hit her 13.25m mark on her second attempt.
