Johnson Resets Program Record For The 100m Hurdles As Teams Compete At Hillsdale's Gina Relays

RECAP: Northwood men's and women's track & field continued their outdoor season at Hillsdale's GINA Relays Thursday and Friday (April 17-18).

INSIDE THE MEET

FOR THE MEN

  • Will Nemecek's 17.74m toss in the shot put was another PR for the senior, improving his No. 2 mark in program history. Also in the shot put, Omari Hairston moved into eighth all-time with a 15.39m toss.
  • Matheu Morrison cleared the NCAA mark again in the 110m hurdles, finishing second with a 14.26 finish.
  • Michael Cook made a big jump in his 400m hurdle PR, taking second overall in 53.71. His mark is the third-best in program history.
  • Caleb Palmreuter won the men's 800m championship event. His 1:52.74 PR is just off Northwood's all-time top 10.
  • Carson Daniel took fourth in the men's 100m dash open. The freshman finished in 10.85.
  • Chris Whitehead won his section of the hammer throw open, eclipsing the 50m mark for the first time in his career. His best toss was 50.71m.

 FOR THE WOMEN

  • Keiyera Johnson took third, resetting her 100m hurdles program record. The new school record is now 15.05.
  • Ariel Warner took seventh in the 800m women's championship, finishing in 2:16.35.
  • Breanna Hyde took third in the women's long jump. Leaping 5.27m in a 4.0 mph wind. Hyde also moved into tenth all-time for the women's 100m dash, scoring a 12.77 PR, taking eleventh in the event. Hyde also took sixth in the triple jump open with a 10.42m mark.
  • Kaylee Aultman improved her personal best in the 3000m steeplechase. Her 12:23.60 mark earned her a third-place finish during the event.
  • In the throws, Kelsey Hansen took second in the hammer with a 55.18m PR, improving her NCAA Provisional and the No. 3 mark in program history. Hansen also took the discus open crown with a 44.21m mark.
  • Abby Hasenfratz took seventh in the hammer throw open with a 45.15m mark, the ninth-best mark in program history.
