MEET THE ATHLETES
Northwood's NCAA Championship contingent features a pair of standout performers in junior hurdler Blake Vier and sophomore thrower Luke Eros. Vier will compete in the men's 110m hurdles, while Eros qualified in the men's hammer throw.
Blake Vier continued his breakout season by qualifying for his first NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 110m hurdles. The junior recorded a season-best and school-record time of 13.59 at the Hillsdale College GINA Relays on April 16. That mark currently ranks tied for No. 2 in NCAA Division II this season heading into the national championships. Vier earned Second Team All-G-MAC honors earlier this spring and will enter Emporia as one of the top contenders in the event.
Luke Eros earned his first career NCAA Outdoor Championships berth in the hammer throw following a season-best toss of 63.83m at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open. The sophomore's mark ranks No. 11 nationally in Division II entering the championships field. Eros becomes Northwood's latest national qualifier in the throws group and will look to compete for All-America honors in Emporia.
