Women's Basketball Named To The WBCA Division II Academic Team Roll

The Northwood University women's basketball team has been named to the WBCA Division II Academic Team Honor Roll.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 annually recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA; and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point average (GPA) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2013-14 season is the 19th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

Northwood finished the 2013-14 season with a team GPA of 3.582, which placed the 14th in all of Division II. Upper Iowa was first in DII with a 3.801 GPA.  The GLIAC was well represented on the list, with six of the 25 teams coming from the conference.

"I am extremely proud of the efforts of our team, both on the court and in the classroom," said Head Coach Jeff Curtis. "Our team is a very dedicated group and their hard work has payed off."

The Timberwolves will return all of their top 12 scorers from from last season, when Northwood won 14 games and reached the GLIAC Tournament.
