Jordyn Nurenberg and Lauren Robak Named First Team All-GLIAC
A pair of student-athletes from the Northwood University women's basketball team have earned First Team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Honors, the league announced Friday night (March 4). Junior center Jordyn Nurenberg (St. Johns, Mich.) and senior guard Lauren Robak (Clarkston, Mich./Our Lady of the Lakes) each earned the honor.
This marks the first time in Nurenberg's career she has earned All-GLIAC honors. She turned in one of the finest individual seasons in Northwood history, setting school-records for points (501) and rebounds (309) in a season. Nurenberg is the current national leader in Division II in double-doubles, ending year with 22 in 29 games. She also moved into the top-10 on the NU single season list in FG percentage (57.0 - fifth), FT made (124 - fifth) and blocked shots (35th - seventh). Nurenberg ended the season ranked second in the GLIAC in scoring, rebounding and FG percentage. She also attempted and made more free throws than anyone in the GLIAC.
Robak earns All-GLIAC honors for the third time in her career, having claimed Second Team honors in each of the past two seasons. She finished her career ranked second in NU history in scoring (1,456 points). Robak averaged over 15 points per game in each of her final three seasons. This year, she finished the season ranking sixth in the GLIAC in scoring while standing third in free throws and seventh in free throw percentage. Robak's 443 points this season placed her eighth in NU history. For her career, Robak finished second in NU history in free throws made (411) and third in 3-point field goals made (159).
Northwood finished the season with a 17-12 record.
