Women's Basketball Picked To Finish Third In GLIAC South In Preseason Coaches Poll

2019-20 GLIAC Preseason Coaches Poll

MIDLAND, MICH. - The Northwood University women's basketball team was picked to finish third in the South Division of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, which the league released Thursday (October 24).

Voting was done by the head coaches of the 12 teams around the GLIAC.

Northwood finished with 38 points. Grand Valley State was picked to win the South Division at 61 points, followed by Ashland at 51.

Michigan Tech (58) was named the favorite in the North Division (60), followed by Northern Michigan (53) and Ferris State (40).

In addition, junior guard Ellie Taylor was named to the GLIAC Preseason All-Conference Team for the South Division. She earned First Team All-GLIAC honors a year ago while leading Northwood in scoring (12.7 ppg).

Northwood will open their season with an exhibition games at Michigan October 30. The Timberwolves open regular season play with a game at Findlay November 8.
