TICKET PUNCHED! Women's Basketball Earns Trip To NCAA Tournament
NCAA Division II Women's Bracket
MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's basketball team has earned an at-large bid to the upcoming NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.
The field of 48-teams was announced by the NCAA Sunday night (March 7). The top-two seeds in each of the eight regions will earn byes in the opening round. The eight regional sites were pre-determined prior to the announcement of the field.
Northwood (11-8) is the No. 6 seed in the Midwest Region. They will take on third-seeded Truman State (16-4). The winner of that game will face second-seeded Drury (20-1) in the second round.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 4 seed Grand Valley State (14-5) will take on No. 5 Ashland (14-8) in the opening round. The winner of that game will face top-seed Michigan Tech (20-1) in round two.
This marks the second time in program history that Northwood has reached the NCAA Tournament. NU also participated in the event following the 2008-09 season.
