Women's Basketball Named To WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll

ATLANTA, GA. - The Northwood University women's basketball team was placed on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Wednesday (July 13).

This marks the ninth time under Northwood head coach Jeff Curtis that the Timberwolves earned a top-25 academic ranking (2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2013-14, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19, 2020-21).

Northwood ended the year with a 3.647 GPA, which was good for 22nd out of over 280 Division II schools. Lubbock Christian led D-II with a 3.783 GPA. Northwood was one of three teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) to earn the honor (Saginaw Valley, Davenport).

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2020-21 season is the 26th in which the WBCA as compiled the honor rolls.
