Women's Basketball Loses At Cedarville 80-73

RECAP: A slow start in the opening quarte proves costly for Northwood women's basketball in an 80-73 loss at Cedarville Saturday (December 14).
GAME STORY
- Northwood led 5-4 early when Cedarville posted eight straight points to take a 12-5 lead.
- The Yellow Jackets continued to control the play, eventually making it a 19-5 run to push their lead to 23-10 late in the quarter.
- CU led 23-12 after one.
- The Cedarville lead grew to as many as 14 before the Timberwolves began to fight back. Seven straight points in just 1:07 cut the Yellow Jacket lead to 33-28 with 2:21 remaining in the first half.
- Cedarville eventually led 39-31 at halftime.
- Northwood came out strong in the second half, making four of their first five field goal attempts to cut the lead down to 44-41 with 7:46 remaining in the third.
- CU responded with seven straight points to get their lead back to double figures at 51-41.
- The rest of the game continued the pattern established to start the third quarter – Northwood stayed close but were unable to get back level with Cedarville.
- NU's last chance came when the Timberwolves trailed 72-68 with under two minutes remaining. The Yellow Jackets scored six straight points to go up 10 and put the game away.
