- Northwood started the game fast, scoring the first eight points in the opening quarter.
- NU pushed the lead to 11-2 before Kentucky Wesleyan began to fight back. The Timberwolves' lead stood at 24-18 after one.
- A 9-0 run early in the second gave KWC their first lead of the night at 29-27.
- Northwood eventually led 39-36 at the break.
- While the score remained close, the Timberwolves held the lead the rest of the third quarter.
- NU led by as many as nine before holding a 58-55 lead after three quarters.
