Women's Basketball Earns 93-67 Road Win Over Lake Superior State

RECAP: Women's Basketball rides dominant opening half to a 93-67 road win over Lake Superior State Sunday afternoon (November 16).

GAME STORY

  • At the first media timeout of the game, the score was tied 11-11. From the 4:08 mark of the first quarter on, Northwood took control of the contest. The Timberwolves outscored the Lakers 17-2 in that time, going 5-6 from the floor and 2-2 from 3-point range. That gave Northwood a 28-13 lead after one quarter.
  • The Timberwolves added to their lead in the second quarter, thanks in large part to junior guard Lexie Bowers. Over a stretch of 7:07, Bowers scored 14 points while connecting on four 3-pointers.  LSSU got within 12 at 39-27 with 3:48 remaining in the half, only to see Northwood finish the half on a 13-0 run to make the halftime score 52-27.
  • NU pushed their lead to as many as 27 in the third quarter while not allowing the Lakers to get any closer than 20. Northwood held a 69-44 lead heading to the final quarter.
  • Northwood got their lead up to 30 at (83-53) before finishing off a 26-point victory.
