GAME STORY

  • Northwood trailed 5-4 in the opening quarter when the Timberwolves posted a 7-1 run to go up 11-5.
  • NU later had a 10-2 run to go up by 11 before holding a 21-13 lead at the end of the first quarter.
  • The Timberwolves led 27-20 with 6:26 remaining in the second quarter when Northwood's offense went cold. NU, which entered the game shooting nearly 48 percent from the floor, missed 13 consecutive shots to allow Wayne state to go on a 9-0 run to go up 29-27.
  • A 3-pointer off the glass at the buzzer of the second quarter by Northwood's Savannah Fellenbaum put the Timberwolves back on top 30-29 at the break.
  • The Warriors scored the first two points of the second half to go back on top, but that proved to be the final lead of the day for WSU.
  • Northwood responded right away with eight straight points to go on top 38-31.
  • NU led by 10 twice in the third quarter before the Timberwolves held a 51-45 lead heading to the fourth.
  • The Timberwolves were on top 51-50 with 8:30 remaining when Northwood posted the key run of the game, putting up 13 straight points to take a 64-50 lead at the 5:46 mark.
