• The score was tied 9-9 at the 5:30 mark of the first quarter when Grand Valley State made the first run of the game. The Lakers scored 14 straight points to hold a 23-9 lead with under a minute remaining in the first.
• GVSU held a 25-11 lead after the opening quarter.
• Northwood played better in the second, cutting a GV lead of down to 13 twice in the quarter.
• With NU trailing 37-24 with less than two minutes remaining in the half, the Lakers scored the final five points of the second to hold a 42-24 lead at the break.
