RECAP: Northwood Women's Basketball opens Great Midwest Athletic Conference play with a 71-58 road win over Tiffin Thursday evening (December 4).

GAME STORY

• Tiffin scored the first two points of the game for the opening lead of the contest.
• That proved to be the only lead of the night for the Dragons, as Northwood responded with a 10-2 run to take the lead for good.
• The NU lead stood at 13-7 when the Timberwolves finished the quarter on an 9-3 run to take a 22-10 lead after the opening quarter.
• Northwood's advantage stayed around the same mark throughout the second quarter, as the Timberwolves lead stayed between 11 and 18 points.
• NU eventually stood with a 39-25 lead at the break.
• Northwood came out strong in the third quarter, scoring nine of the first 11 points of the second half to take a 48-27 lead.
• That run to start the third quarter eventually reached 20-4, giving Northwood a 59-29 lead with under four minutes remaining in the quarter.
• The Dragons did finish the quarter strong, scoring seven of the final nine points to make the score 63-40 heading to the final period.
• Tiffin was the better team in the fourth, but the 16-point lead at the end of the game was as close as the Dragons got down the stretch.
