Women's Basketball Earns 76-72 Win Over Hillsdale

RECAP: Northwood Women's Basketball controls the fourth quarter to earn a 76-72 win over Hillsdale Thursday night (December 11).

GAME STORY

  • Hillsdale started the game with a strong opening period, leading most of the quarter. The Chargers led from the 2:09 point on and held a 23-19 advantage after one.
  • HC maintained their lead the rest of the first half, thanks largely to excellent perimeter shooting. Hillsdale made seven of their first 10 3-pointers of the game and pushed their advantage to as many as 10 in the quarter. Northwood fought back to make the Charger lead 43-39 at the break.
  • Northwood had a couple of chances to tie the game up in the third, but Hillsdale earned defensive stops each time. The Chargers maintained their lead throughout the quarter and were on top 63-56 heading to the final quarter.
  • The Timberwolves had four more chances to tie or take the lead in the final quarter before going up 68-67 with 2:32 remaining in the game. It was Northwood's first lead since late in the first quarter.
  • A 9-0 run for Northwood put the Timberwolves up 72-67 with under a minute remaining.
  • Northwood finished off the victory thanks to holding a 20-9 scoring edge in the fourth quarter.
