Women's Basketball Drops 83-77 Road Contest At No. 14 Northern Michigan

RECAP: Northwood Women's Basketball battles but falls 83-77 at No. 14 Northern Michigan Wednesday afternoon (December 17).
GAME STORY
- Northern Michigan started the game fast, opening up a 13-2 lead at the 6:23 mark of the opening quarter.
- The lead grew to as many as 12 (18-6) before Northwood fought back. The Timberwolves went on an 11-0 run to cut the lead to one at 18-17.
- NMU ended the first with a 23-19 lead.
- The Timberwolves trailed 30-21 with under seven minutes remaining in the second when NU went on a big run. Northwood scored 13 straight points to take their biggest lead of the day at 34-30.
- Northwood went on to hold a 34-32 lead at the break.
- The two teams stayed close throughout the third quarter. The largest lead for either side in the third was six points.
- The Wildcats scored seven of the final nine points to take a 54-48 lead heading to the final quarter.
- Northwood got within two in the fourth but were unable to tie the game the rest of the way.
- NMU led 73-62 with 3:17 remaining before the Timberwolves put up seven straight points to get with four with 1:37 to go.
- NU got within four two more times before the end of the game before Northern Michigan finished off the six-point victory.
