Women's Basketball Earns Fifth Straight Win, Claiming 75-67 Road Victory At Ohio Dominican

RECAP: Northwood women's basketball earns fifth straight win, using a dominant opening half to earn a 75-67 road victory at Ohio Dominican Saturday (January 24).
GAME STORY
- For the second straight game, Northwood set the tone for the contest right away. The Timberwolves scored the first 12 points in the opening 5:14 of the game.
- NU went on to lead 17-2 before standing with a 21-6 at the end of the opening quarter.
- Northwood shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the first (9-18), while ODU finished at 13.3 percent (2-15).
- The Timberwolves maintained control in the second quarter, going up by as many as 27 (43-16) before holding a 43-19 lead at the break.
- Ohio Dominican came out fast in the third quarter, scoring the first eight points to get within 16 at 45-16.
- The Panthers got within 15 shortly after that before Northwood got going, eventually getting the lead back up to as many as 25.
- NU held a 63-42 edge heading to the final quarter.
- Northwood was up 71-52 with 4:30 remaining when ODU finished the game on a run. The Panthers outscored Northwood 15-4 to get within eight at 75-67 with 1:52 remaining.
- Ohio Dominican got off a 3-pointer with 49 seconds remaining that would have cut the lead to five but missed.
- Neither team scored the rest of the way, giving Northwood the win.
