Women's Basketball Posts Sixth Straight Win, Downing Ashland 73-58

RECAP: Northwood women's basketball picks up its sixth straight win, downing Ashland 73-58 Saturday afternoon (January 31).
GAME STORY
- After Ashland scored the first two points of the game, Northwood responded with seven straight to take the lead for good.
- The quarter was evenly played from that point on, which ended with the Timberwolves on top 15-11.
- With the score 17-14 in the second, NU went on a run to take control of the game. Northwood put up 13 straight points in just over two minutes to take a 30-14 lead.
- The Timberwolves pushed their lead to as many as 21 before leading 42-21 at halftime.
- The story of the quarter was Northwood guard Maeve St. John, who scored 15 points in the frame while going 5-5 from 3-point range.
- Ashland cut the lead to 18 early in the second half before Northwood responded. NU was up 61-34 heading to the final quarter.
- The Eagles played their best basketball of the game in the final quarter, outscoring the Timberwolves 21-12. Ashland got back within 14 in the fourth before Northwood won by 15.
