Women's Basketball Earns Hard-Fought 69-67 Win At Hillsdale

GAME STORY
- Northwood scored on the opening shot of the game and led throughout the rest of the opening half.
- The Timberwolves maintained at least a six-point lead over the final 5:31 of the first quarter.
- NU's lead grew to as many as 11 in the first before holding a 23-16 lead after one.
- Northwood got their lead to 12 early in the second quarter and were still on top 34-25 with less than two minutes remaining in the half.
- Hillsdale finished the half strong, scoring the final six points to make the score 34-31 at the break.
- The Chargers kept the momentum going into the third quarter, taking their first lead of the day at 36-34.
- HC held the lead the majority of the third quarter, going up by as many as six before holding a 51-48 lead heading to the fourth.
- Hillsdale led 62-58 with under seven minutes remaining when Northwood made the key run of the game. The Timberwolves scored nine of the next 10 points to take a 67-63 lead with 2:57 remaining.
- Neither team scored for the next 2:35. The stretch ended with a Hillsdale layup that cut the lead to two with 22 seconds remaining.
- Maeve St. John made a pair of free throws with 14 seconds remaining to clinch the victory.

- With her three blocked shots, Holmes has 51 blocked shots this season. That is fifth-highest single-season total in school history. She set the single-season record last season with 71.
- The Timberwolves' 23rd win extended the program record for victories in a season. The 2008-09 team won 21 games for the old record.
- Northwood also extends school record for longest winning streak with their 13th straight win today. The 1990-91 team won 10 consecutive games.
- NU's 19 conference wins this season are the most in a season in program history. The 2023-24 team finished the year with 16 for the previous record.
