Women's Basketball Earns Third Seed For NCAA Midwest Regional

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's basketball team has been named the third seed for the upcoming 2026 NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament.

This marks the third time in program history the Timberwolves have reached the NCAA Tournament (2008-09, 2020-21).

The brackets were announced Sunday night (March 8) by the NCAA. Each of the eight regions will host eight team tournaments.

Northwood will take on sixth-seeded Malone in the opening round. This will be the fourth time this season the two teams have faced each other. NU has won the first three meetings, earning 73-54 and 52-46 victories in the regular season and a 64-53 win in the G-MAC Tournament Championship on Saturday.

Game details will be announced by Monday morning.
