Maeve St. John Named Third Team Academic All-America By CSC

2025-26 ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA RELEASE

MIDLAND, MICH. – Maeve St. John from the Northwood University women's basketball has been named a Third Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Nominating and voting for Academic All-America is an exclusive right of College Sports Communicators members.

She is the first Northwood student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors since Kyle Ziegler from the baseball program in 2019. St. John is the first women's basketball player to be named Academic All-American since Jennifer Foster and Jennifer Hetherington-Wodd each were honored in 1992.

St. John turned in one of the greatest seasons in program history in 2025-26. She earned Second Team All-America honors from D2CCA and Honorable Mention recognition from the WBCA. St. John was the first Northwood women's basketball player to earn a regional Player of the Year award as well as a conference Player of the Year. She finished the year averaging 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.4 steals per game. She set numerous school records during the year, including points in a season (632), free throws made in a season (184), steals in a season (117) and steals in a career (296). A four-time G-MAC Player of the Week this season, St. John scored at least 32 points five times in 2025-26. St. John currently ranks in the top-10 nationally in steals, steals per game, free throws made and free throw percentage (88.9).

Northwood (28-6) set school-records for wins in a season, conference wins in a season (19) and longest winning streak (18). The Timberwolves reached the Midwest regional final before falling to top-ranked Grand Valley State. Northwood ended the year ranked No. 9 nationally in KPI, the primary ranking system used to determine the NCAA Tournament field.
