GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Northwood started the game strong, scoring the only three goals of the opening period. Cece Gibson, Anna Young and Gabby Wilson gave the Timberwolves a 3-0 lead after one.
- After Saginaw Valley scored to open the second, Wilson netted her second goal of the day to make the score 4-1.
- The Cardinals controlled the remainder of the half, scoring the final three goals to send the game to the break tied 4-4.
- SVSU kept the momentum going into the second half, netting the first three goals of the third to go up 7-4.
- Mairin Ziegler ended the Cardinals run with a goal for NU at the end of the third to send the game to the fourth with Saginaw Valley up 7-5.
- Ziegler scored early in the final quarter to make the score 8-6.
- The Cardinals put the game away at that point, scoring six straight goals to take their biggest lead of the day at 12-6.
- Gibson and Madalynn Nowak rounded out the scoring for Northwood in the final minute.
