Women's Lacrosse Earns First Win Of The Season In 13-7 Road Victory Over Lake Erie

RECAP: Northwood Women's Lacrosse picks up its first win of the season in a 13-7 road victory over Lake Erie Thursday (April 1).
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Northwood got off to a fast start in the game, scoring the opening goal of the contest 16 seconds in. Paige Schultz got Northwood on the board to go up 1-0.
- After Lake Erie scored to level the score, the Timberwolves went back on top on a goal from Anna Young off an assist from Cece Gibson to put NU back on top 2-1.
- Addie Valler then made it 3-1 Northwood at 8:28. Gibson picked up her second assist of the game on the goal.
- On Northwood's fourth goal, Gibson found the back of the net. Schultz earned the assist to give the Timberwolves a three-goal lead.
- Mairin Ziegler rounded out the scoring in the first quarter on a free position shot that gave Northwood a 5-1 advantage.
- The Storm netted the first goal of the second to get within three early in the second before Wilson scored on a free position shot.
- Lake Erie cut the lead to 6-3 at 10:52 before the Timberwolves controlled the remainder of the half.
- Schultz, Wilson and Carly Boyd all scored before the end of the second to give Northwood a 9-3 lead at the break.
- The Timberwolves kept the momentum going early in the third quarter as Gibson scored early before a pair of goals by Wilson that put Northwood on top 12-3.
- LEC responded with two straight goals before Gibson scored to send the game to the fourth with NU leading 13-5.
- The Storm scored the final two goals in the fourth quarter, making the final 13-7.
