The Northwood University women's soccer team earned its second straight victory Sunday afternoon (September 16), defeating Malone 10-0.
Northwood is now 2-3 overall, 2-0 in the GLIAC. Malone falls to 1-4 overall, 0-2 in the GLIAC.
The Timberwolves jumped out early in the contest, netting two goals in the opening 2:35 of the match. NU eventually would lead 3-0 at halftime. Northwood held a 7-2 advantage in shots in the opening half.
Northwood continued to create quality scoring chances in the second half, scoring seven goals. The Timberwolves registered 14 shots in the half.
Alyssa Tomassi (Macomb, Mich./Eisenhower) and Amanda Watson led the way for the Timberwolves. Tomassi had five goals, while Watson netted three scores. Megan Riley (Davison, Mich.) also scored her first career goal.
Northwood returns to action Friday (September 21) at Ferris State. Action gets under way at 4 p.m.
