Women's Soccer Places Two On All-GLIAC Teams
MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's soccer team placed two student-athletes on the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) team, the league announced Friday (November 12).
Senior midfielder Jessica Piper was named First Team All-GLIAC. Junior forward Juliana Paoletti was named Honorable Mention.
Piper is the first Northwood player to earn First Team All-GLIAC honors since 2012, when Alyssa Tomassi and Amanda Watson each earned the honor. She finished the season with eight goals (second on the team) and 17 points (third on the team). Piper finished her career with 15 goals, six assists and 36 points. Her 36 points total ranks her 14th in program history.
Paoletti was one of the top forwards in the conference despite missing time due to injury. She finished the season with 10 goals and two assists, good for 22 points overall. Paoletti ranked fifth in the conference in goals and seventh in points. For her three-year career, Paoletti has 22 goals and four assists for 48 points. Her point total is good for ninth in school history while her 22 goals are tied for seventh.
Northwood finished the year 10-9 overall, marking their first winning season since 2004. The Timberwolves' six conference wins matched the school record for most in a season.
