Women's Soccer Wins Thriller Over Lake Erie 2-1 - NU Clinches Home Game In G-MAC Quarterfinals

RECAP: Northwood women's soccer earns a dramatic 2-1 win over Lake Erie in the final seconds, clinching the Timberwolves a home game in the quarterfinals of the Great Midwest Tournament Saturday (November 1).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Lake Erie found the back of the net first, connecting on a goal at 23:00 to take a 1-0
• Exactly two minutes later, Northwood responded. After a good build up a ball was headed out of the area by the Storm defense right to the feet of NU's Ashtyn Lange. She connected to the upper right corner of the net from just outside the area to tie the score 1-1.
• The score remained 1-1 to halftime. Halftime stats were even – LE held a 4-3 edge in shots, while NU had two corner kicks to one for the Storm.
• While both teams had chances in the second half, the score remained 1-1 until the final moments of the contest. On a corner from Carly Boyd, Ella Boyd headed home the ball with seven seconds remaining on the clock to give the Timberwolves a 2-1 victory.
