Women's Soccer Up To Sixth In Latest NCAA Regional Rankings

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood women's soccer team (11-2-5, 11-2-5 In-Region) was ranked No. 6 in the second set of NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings, released Wednesday (November 12).

The Midwest Region features several programs ranked or receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches (USC) National Poll (November 11). Grand Valley State leads the regional field and sits at No. 6 nationally, followed by Ashland at No. 13 and McKendree at No. 19. Northwood is one of four Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) teams in the top 10 of the NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings, joining Ashland (No. 2), Cedarville (No. 5), Findlay (No. 9), and Northwood (No. 6).

A total of 56 teams will qualify for this year's NCAA Division II Tournament, with the top eight programs from the Midwest Region earning berths. The opening rounds are scheduled for November 21–23 and will be hosted at 16 campus sites nationwide.

The NCAA Selection Show is set for Monday, November 17, at 6:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.

The Timberwolves head to Ashland for the conference tournament semifinals Thursday (November 13). Northwood and Ashland have faced off twice this season with the first set finishing in a 1-1 draw on October 15 in Midland and the second being a 4-1 Ashland win in Ashland, Ohio November 4.
