Nastya Puchkina Named GLIAC Women's Tennis Athlete Of The Week

Northwood University sophomore Nastya Puchkina earned GLIAC Women's Tennis "Athlete of the Week" honors after going 4-0 last week, helping Northwood earn their ninth GLIAC Championship in 10 seasons.

Northwood University sophomore Nastya Puchkina went 4-0 last week, helping Northwood earn their ninth GLIAC Championship in 10 seasons.  She went 2-0 at No. 2 doubles and teamed with Susana Alcaraz to go 2-0 at No. 1 singles.  Both of her wins in singles were straight-set victories.  In doubles, Puchkina and Alcaraz dropped a total of just five games in two matches.  For the season, Puchkina has gone 13-1 in singles and 14-0 in doubles.
