Women's Tennis Defeats Lake Superior 5-0

The Northwood University women's tennis team moved to 8-0 overall with a 5-0 rain-shortened win over Lake Superior State Friday afternoon (September 20).

The Timberwolves are also 8-0 in the GLIAC.  LSSU falls to 4-3 overall and in the GLIAC.

Northwood got off to a strong start, winning all three doubles matches while dropping just eight games.  The Timberwolves then posted a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 6 singles by Darina Berkova and Maria Avsenenko.  With Northwood up 5-0 and having clinched the overall victory, the match was ended because of rain.

Northwood will host Saginaw Valley State Saturday morning (September 21).  Match time is set for  10 a.m.
