Women's Tennis Wins GLIAC Tournament Championship

The Northwood University women's tennis team claimed the 2013 GLIAC Tournament Championship Sunday (October 27), defeating Wayne State 5-2 in the finals

Northwood finishes the fall season with a 17-0 record.  Wayne State finishes at 16-2, with both losses coming against Northwood.

All three doubles matches finished with matching final scores of 8-4.  Northwood earned wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, while WSU claimed the victory at the No. 2 slot to send the match to singles with NU leading 2-1.

It was the top of the Northwood lineup that was the key to the Timberwolves earning the overall victory.  NU posted straight-set wins at the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 positions to take the title.  Wayne State claimed a point at the No. 5 position.
