Mike Rose Steps Down As Men's & Women's Tennis Coach

MIDLAND, MICH. – Mike Rose has stepped down as the head coach for the Northwood University men's and women's tennis programs.

Rose has accepted a position at the Greater Midland Tennis Center as the Director of Adult Tennis.

Taking over both programs at the start of the 2020-21 season, Rose was named the GLIAC Women's Coach of the Year in 2022, when he led the team to a conference championship. Rose also led the men's team that season to a four-spot improvement in the standings, placing fourth overall. In his three seasons as head coach, Rose picked up a combined 50 victories.

"We appreciate everything Mike has done for the tennis programs here at Northwood," said Athletic Director Jeff Curtis. "He had done an excellent job as head coach and has been a great representative of Northwood University. We wish him continued success in the future."

A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
