Track & Field Teams Compete At The Bob Eubanks Open
The Northwood University track and field teams competed at the Bob Eubanks Open Friday night (January 12).
No team scoring was taken at the event, which was hosted by Grand valley State University. Athletes ranging from Division I to Division III took part in the meet.
The highlight of the meet for Northwood was the performance of freshman Enock Rono on the men's team. He beat out 22 other runners to earn first place in the 800 meter run, clocking an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 1:52.42. His teammate Matt Williams came in third in the event, clocking a 1:58.11. Northwood's 4X400 meter relay team placed third overall out of 13 teams, clocking a 3:19.60.
The top performance on the women's team belonged to Madison Pines. She clocked a 10:27.85 in the 3,000 meter run to place sixth overall out of 37 competitors. Marsadie Cinato was eighth in the 300 meter run with a time of 42.80, with the top seven performers all coming from Division I schools.
Northwood will travel to the Mike Linz Open Friday night (January 18).
