Track & Field Competes At Jack Skoog Open
The Northwood University track and field teams took part in the Jack Skoog Open Friday night (February 16).
No team scoring was taken at the event, which was hosted by Central Michigan University at the Jack Skoog Indoor Track. Athletes from Alma, Central Michigan, Saginaw Valley State and Northwood took part in the event.
On the women's side, Valencia Lynch earned the win in the 60 meter dash, clocking a time of 7.99. Brittany O'Hora placed second in the 400 with a time of 1:01.52. Hunter Perry was third in the shot put with a toss of 11.08 meters, while Chelsea Young ran a 9.90 in the 60 meter hurdles to place third. Kaleigh Theriault also earned a third place finish with a time of 26.92 in the 200.
The men's team was led by a win in the 60 meter dash, thanks to Jalen Hodgson clocking a 7.12. Hodgson also earned a second place finish in the 200 with a time of 23.75. Karmine Jarmon ran a 53.12 in the 400 to finish third overall.
Northwood will compete at the GLIAC Championships February 22-23. The event will be hosted by Grand Valley State.
