Track & Field Teams Run At NCAA Indoor Championships

The Northwood University track and field teams took part in the 2012 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday and Saturday (March 8-9).

The event was hosted by the Gulf South Conference in Birmingham, Alabama.

On the women's side, Madison Pines competed in a pair of events.  She started her meet by placing 12th in the mile run, thanks to a time of 4:55.04.  That time broke her own school record by more than six seconds. Pines then clocked a 2:17.08 in the 800 to finish 16th overall.

The men's team was represented by Enock Rono in the 800.  Rono, who was seeded second in the 800, placed 11th overall with a time of 1:52.90.  The 4X400 meter relay team of Jacob Hurrell, Travis Blunt, and Doug Ladner were scheduled to compete but did not start in the event.
