The Northwood University volleyball team remained unbeaten in GLIAC play with a 3-0 win over Lake Superior State Friday night (October 26). Set scores were 25-12, 25-16, 25-17.
Northwood is now 18-5 overall, 12-0 in the GLIAC. LSSU falls to 4-19 overall, 1-11 in the GLIAC.
The Timberwolves offense and serving were strong in the first set, allowing them to jump out to an early lead. Northwood hit .500 (15-3-22) while registering seven aces. LSSU finished at .059 for the set (4-3-17).
NU continued their strong play in both the third and fourth sets, particularly on the defensive end. LSSU hit -.042 in the second (7-8-24) and -.031 in the third (7-8-32).
Fourteen different Timberwolves saw action in the match. Northwood was led by freshman Krysta Kramer (Lansing, Mich./Grand Ledge). She had 10 kills on 16 swings (.552 attack percentage) to go along with seven digs. In all, 12 different players had a kill in the match.
Northwood will host Saginaw Valley State Saturday (October 27). Match time is set for 4 p.m.
