Tim Koth Resigns As Volleyball Coach

Tim Koth, the head coach of the Northwood University volleyball team for the past 10 season, as announced his resignation from the program.

Koth is leaving Northwood to take the head coaching job at Wayne State University.

The head coach of the Timberwolves for the past 10 seasons, Koth guided Northwood to 175 wins and a .585 win percentage. The Timberwolves posted at least 20 victories four times in his career and reached the NCAA Tournament five times. Koth finished his time at Northwood with a pair of strong seasons, posting 47 wins. His 2012 team won the GLIAC Championship and the GLIAC Tournament Championship, which earned Koth the GLIAC and AVCA Midwest Region Coach of the Year award.  He led the Timberwolves to eight appearances in the GLIAC Tournament.

"We would like to thank Tim Koth for everything he has done over the last 10 seasons," said Athletic Director Dave Marsh. "He has had a great deal of success here both on the court and in the classroom at Northwood and we wish him well in his future endeavors. At the same time we also assure our student-athletes, alumni and entire Northwood family will now move forward to ensure that Northwood volleyball continues our long-standing tradition of success."

The search for a new head volleyball coach will begin immediately.
