Megan Acs Named GMAC Volleyball North Division Defensive Player of the Week

MIDLAND, MICH. – Megan Acs, a senior on the Northwood University volleyball team, has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) North Division Defensive Player of the Week.

Acs is the first volleyball player at Northwood to earn Player of the Week honors from the GMAC.

In a week that Northwood went 2-0 on the road Acs averaged 6.0 digs in sets, good for 48 total digs. She also added 11 assists and a pair of aces in the two victories. Acs had a career-high 31 digs in NU's 3-2 win at Walsh, a match which the Timberwolves dropped the opening two sets. She then had 17 digs in three sets in Northwood's 3-0 win at Malone. Acs currently ranks fourth in the GMAC in digs per set (4.55) on the season.

Northwood is currently 9-4 overall, 5-0 in the GMAC and is on a four-match winning streak. The Timberwolves will host a pair of matches this week, starting Friday (September 23) against Ohio Dominican. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
