Volleyball Adds Final Two Recruits For 2025 Season
MIDLAND, Mich. – Northwood University is thrilled to announce the commitment of Addison Pearce and Liza Young to the Timberwolves volleyball program. Both athletes bring impressive academic and athletic credentials, along with a passion for the sport, to the Northwood community.
The duo will join the program for the upcoming 2025 season.
Addison Pearce

Pearce joins the Timberwolves as an Accounting major. A highly accomplished student, Pearce earned the distinction of Salutatorian at her high school, was named an AAU Academic All-American, and is a member of the National Honor Society. On the court, Pearce's accolades include 2024 All-State First Team, 2023 CHSL All-Catholic and 2022 CHSL All-League honors while playing four years of as a varsity athlete
"I chose Northwood because of the team culture and welcoming atmosphere," Pearce said. "Northwood was a perfect fit for me both academically and athletically, as well as because of its size and location." Pearce is the daughter of Cheryl and Larry Pearce.

Young will pursue a degree in Hospitality and Management at Northwood University. Young's athletic resume includes two All-District awards, a Best Blocker award, and recognition as a captain for two club teams. She also secured a second-place finish at the 2024 Yujo Tournament and ranks as the #2 jumper in the Pacific region.
"I chose Northwood because of the small, welcoming community, smaller student-to-faculty ratio, and being close to family," Young shared. She is the daughter of Crystal and Carlton Young.
"We are incredibly excited to welcome Addison and Liza to the Northwood volleyball family," said Northwood Head Coach Dave Shumaker. "Their talent, leadership, and dedication both on and off the court will make an impact on our program. We look forward to seeing them thrive as student-athletes at Northwood.
Northwood went 21-8 last season while finishing second in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference with a 12-3 league record.
