Brett Ferguson enters his second season as Tim Koth’s top assistant coach.

He was a key part of Northwood reaching the GLIAC Tournament a year ago, helping Northwood finish with an 11-8 mark in conference play.

Ferguson comes to Northwood from Park University, where he was both a player and a coach. He served as the interim head coach for both the men’s and women’s program last year after he had been an assistant for the Pirates. Ferguson also spent one season as an assistant coach at the Division I level at UMKC.

A 2008 graduate of Park, Ferguson played four years of volleyball for the Pirates. He was a part of four NAIA National Tournament teams. The Pirates went 102-16 in his career and was the NAIA runner up in his junior season.

“Brett will make a strong addition to the NU staff,” said Koth. “He has a very strong playing background and a very diverse coaching background since graduating from Park. We are very happy to welcome him to Midland and the NU Volleyball Program,” said Coach Koth.
