Sierakowski Leads Women As Cross Country Competes At Lock Haven And Calvin

OVERVIEW – LOCK HAVEN INVITE/ KNIGHT INVITE

LOCATION: West Branch Cross Country Course - Lock Haven, Pa./ Gainey Athletic Complex - Grand Rapids, Mich.

RECAP: On Saturday (September 28), Northwood men's and women's cross country competed at two meets, utilizing split squads for the Lock Haven and Knight Invitationals.

LOCK HAVEN INVITE

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)

• Northwood's top eight men competed at the Lock Haven Invite, taking fourth out of 26 teams with 111 points. Davis & Elkins out of West Virginia won the meet with 43 points, followed by Findlay in second with 76 points.
• Preston Earl (25:07.3) and Carson Laney (25:17.5) led the Timberwolves taking 13^th and 16^th respectively out of 229 athletes.
• Five of the top six team finishers were members of the G-MAC: Findlay, Walsh, Northwood, Tiffin, and Malone.
• Northwood's total time was 2:07.15, with an average top-five time of 25:27 for a 39-second spread.

• Laney: 16^th – 25:17.5
• Sam Smith: 24^th – 25:30.2 – PR (15^th in NU History)

INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS)

• NU's women placed fourth with 122 points amongst 114 athletes from 11 teams. Saginaw Valley St. left with the crown with 47 points, Wittenberg with 63, and Calvin with 64.
• Junior Rachael Sierakowski was the Timberwolves' best finisher, taking 11^th in 23:13.4.
• Northwood's top five averaged a time of 25:35, with a total time of 2:02:25.

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)

• Four Northwood runners competed, with Nolan Nixon leading the Timbys. He placed 29^th overall with a 27:07.6 finish. A total of 140 racers competed in the event.

• Alex Meszaros: 71^st – 28:33.9
