Men's Cross Country Has Small Group Compete At SVSU's Red October

OVERVIEW – RED OCTOBER

LOCATION: Saginaw Valley St. Cross Country Course – University Center, Mich.

RECAP: Northwood men's cross country sent a small group of athletes to compete at the Red October Invitational on Friday (October 17). The meet, hosted by Saginaw Valley St., featured regional competition from Wayne St. (Mich.) and SVSU.

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)

  • Junior Alex Meszaros paced the Timberwolves with a 13th-place finish in 27:20.93. Freshman Parker Fettig followed in 19th with a mark of 27:58.70, while sophomore Joshua Simpson was close behind at 28:16.01 for 21st place.
  • Freshman Raymond Lucero II rounded out Northwood's competitors, clocking 29:01.26 to place 23rd overall.
  • The group posted an average time of 28:09, with Meszaros leading the way as the Timberwolves' top finisher for the first time this season.

  • The 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Championship will be held on Saturday, October 25, in Midland, Michigan with Northwood serving as the the host institution.  The 2025 postseason race will open with the 14th annual women's 6K run at 10:30 a.m., by the 14th annual men's 8K at 11:30 a.m.
