OVERVIEW – NCAA DII MIDWEST REGIONAL

LOCATION: Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course – Kenosha, Wis.

RECAP: The Northwood men's and women's cross country teams concluded their 2025 season at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships, held Saturday (November 9) at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin. 

INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS)

  • Grand Valley State took the Midwest crown, placing five runners in the top 10 to capture the team title with just 25 points and a total time of 1:44:37. Cedarville and Lewis battled closely for second, finishing with 87 and 90 points, respectively, while Northern Michigan (160) and Walsh (194) rounded out the top five.  
  • Junior Kaylee Aultman paced Northwood once again, placing 123rd overall with a time of 23:43.9, averaging 6:22 per mile.
  • Freshman Megan Gottschall followed in 140th at 24:07.6, while fellow freshman Danica Aldrich rounded out Northwood's lineup in 167th with a 25:19.3 finish.
  • Northwood did not record full team scores.

NORTHWOOD RESULTS: (6,000 METERS)

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (10,000 METERS)

  • Grand Valley State captured the team title with a dominant score of 44 points, edging Saginaw Valley State by just eight points in a tight battle up front. Lewis and Tiffin followed in third and fourth, while Walsh, Ashland, and Michigan Tech rounded out the top seven.
  • Northwood placed 19th overall with a total score of 503 and an average pace of 5:19 per mile in the competitive 29-team regional field.
  • Junior Matt Grindrod led the Timberwolves with a 43rd-place finish, clocking 31:58.9 to pace the Northwood lineup. Fellow junior William Haw followed in 32:43.2 for 85th overall. Both runners entered the Northwood top-25 all-time list for the cross country 10K.
