GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • The first two innings set the tone for the entire game. In the top of the first, Roosevelt had a runner on first with two outs before putting together a big rally. The Lakers scored five two-out runs to take a 5-0 lead.
  • In the bottom of the second inning, Northwood had a run in on an Anthony Manganello RBI single. Later in the inning, NU had the bases loaded with nobody out but were unable to add on, making the score 5-1 heading to the third.
  • Matthew Meyer got Northwood within three in the third with an RBI single
  • The Timberwolves scored a pair in the fourth on a Myles Beale RBI single and an Alex Jarboe sacrifice fly to cut the lead down to 5-4.
  • That was as close as the Timberwolves would get the rest of the way, however, as Roosevelt scored three in the fifth and two in the seventh to push their lead up to 10-4.
  • Josh Get rounded out the scoring for the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth.
  • Missed chances proved to be key in the game, as Northwood left a total of 13 runner on base for the game.
