RECAP: Northwood extends win streak to 14 games, sweeping opening series doubleheader versus Tiffin Saturday (April 5). Northwood took game one 4-2 before shutting out the Dragons in game two 4-0.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (NINE INNINGS)

  • In the bottom of the first inning, the first two Northwood batters were retired before the Timberwolves got something going. After three consecutive walks, Ben Narr cleared the bases with a double to give the Timberwolves a 3-0 lead.
  • NU extended the lead in the third inning on a wild pitch that brought home Drew Charters to make the score 4-0.
  • Tiffin got one back in the sixth thanks to a Northwood wild pitch to get within three at 4-1.
  • The Dragons got a two-out single in the top of the ninth to make the score 4-2 before the Timberwolves closed out the victory.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS (SEVEN INNINGS)

  • Northwood opened the game with two of their own in the first. Myles Beale led off with a hit-by-pitch before her came around to score on an RBI from Drew Charters, 1-0 NU.
  • Brendan Hammer drove in NU's second run of the first with a double just inside the left field line. Charters scored on the play, 2-0 NU.
  • Caden Duryea's two-run single up the middle gave NU the 4-0 lead in the second. Logan Voth and Beale scored from second and third on the two-out single.
  • Jake Ickes proved to be much for the Tiffin offense to manage. He tossed six shut-out innings before Lucas McKinney came in and nailed down the seventh.
  • Northwood extends their win streak to 14 to start conference play, a program record.
